Dresden Files: Transylvania

Winter and Party

On their last adventure, our heroes found themselves tackling different situations. In order to find out more about Ana Maria’s disappearance, Irina takes a 28 year old unhappily married police officer to a café near the dorms and he pours out his soul to her. She asks of ways to find a missing person, a “friend” she hasn’t heard from some time and doesn’t answer the phone, but it’s not a missing person case.

In the meantime, Crooked gets threatened by the Warden who asked him about the snakes and gets a nasty wound out of it. Before then, Crooked found out that the Summer Court has something to do with the snakes judging by the evidence he found around the snake cages. It’s the DeWinter R&D tow truck that comes to pick up the cages and the police officer wants to stop them, but the guys in the suits (lab suits) show him some documents and he has to let them go much to Irina’s dismay.
The heroes regroup. Irina, Crooked and Nikolai get to hide in the bushes and see it all happening before they get the wounded librarian back home. In the morning Irina gets to meet Angela’s boyfriend, the football player, Ivan, who also hits on her, gets her number and she finds out that he knows the cheerleader, but not so well. Luckily she gets invited to a dorm party that night where she can find out more about Ana Maria.

The three meet during lunch and decide to find out more about the summer group and they decide that Irina should visit the psychologist DR. William Duchovny, then go to the party; Crooked wants to study about the fay (goals, motivations, ways ) and finds out that they have a feudal system, ancient in the area, that this is their hometown and that DeWinter is from the Winter Fae and on Summer’s turf; Nikolai is googling for Moigrad Village and Castle.

Later that day, at the party, Alex goes all medieval, with a cape and sword, which makes Ivan to tell him that he’s at the wrong party and they almost fight. Christina is there and Crooked begs her to help, and she ends up pulling him after her;

Irina is dragged by Angela into the cheerleading group and talks to one of the girls who was living in Ana Maria’s shadow, from which she finds out that the two grew up together, that Ana Maria she got flirty in high school and that her mother raised her single. Her mom she was a forest ranger that strangely got filthy rich, she was seen with a guy that has a land rover. One of Ana Maria’s boyfriends is at the party selling hasis (Simon) and strangely, Ana Maria also likes to dress up medieval and is also part of a forest scout group.

Nikolai is talking with Christina and finds out almost next to nothing apparently. Irina then talks with Simon and finds out that Ana Maria has her phone in her room and that her mom lives in a normal house in the outskirts of the city. Crooked puts on a magician’s performance, allowing Nikolai and Irina to enter Ana Maria’s room, they take some personal items including a charm similar to mistletoe, and something from it pricks Irina’s hand. She’s bleeding, feeling dizzy and almost passes out when Nikolai takes her out of the room. Alex has a lot of people around him, admiring him for his performance, which actually makes him the performer of the day, while Nikolai is the real hero.

As the party leaves the scene, a “magical” fire alarm starts ringing in the background.

Bikers attack induction event

TV Reporter:
Reporting live from Cluj University where this year’s Induction Week had taken a wrong turn for students and teachers alike when a group of violent bikers has vandalized the campus and brought in snakes to terrorize the participants by setting them loose. The only evidence of their trespass and illegal conduct is the scenery you see behind me and the reports of terrified eye witnesses who have no idea where the snakes have disappeared once they were released, but a few do remember at least two of the teachers stepping up to deal with the dangerous situation.
Until now the police didn’t apprehend any of the suspects and the bikers, locally known as the Blazing Suns are renowned for their violent and unlawful acts in the city, but their identity remains hidden even today. Luckily, no one was bitten by the snakes as far as we know and no mortal wounds were reported, but several students and family members have been hurt during the general chaos.
We have one missing person however, Ana Maria Ardeleanu, a 20 year old student who was last seen on campus during the events with the cheerleader squad. Anyone who has any information regarding her whereabouts please call this number.
The teachers and faculty staff wishes to announce that classes will start according to the usual schedule and that no delays have been made, re-assuring the students and their families that extra measures of security are taken to ensure the safety of all students during this academic year. They deeply apologize for what happened and ask all citizens with any information regarding the bikers to address the local police.

Irina Rosetti’s letter to her parents:
Dear Mom and Dad,
You’ve probably heard what happened on the news. I’m safe and sound and (un)fortunately perfectly able to attend classes, but I got to say, not as excited for them as I was before the Induction ceremony. I was expecting some doubts and fears of course, all freshmen have them, but given what happened and knowing that I was this close to death – yes, I don’t want you to worry, but I was inches away from the biggest snake you ever saw, it was humongous – now I am quite disappointed with how normal and boring things are at the University. I’ve made some friends, I get along pretty well with my roommate Angela and I know you’ll like this dad, with some of the teachers. Two actually which makes me a very nerdy and conscious student, wouldn’t you say?
Well, last but not least, I do have everything I need and the conditions are ok, but a few extra bucks wouldn’t hurt. I joined a book club and books are pretty expensive.
Lots of love,
Your angry pumpkin

Irina’s diary:
Ok, so today…no TODAY everything went totally out of control. And not saying it was like Angela-totally-out-of-control, no, it was so much more than that. Not sure if I should even write this stuff down, but when I’m old and want to show my grandkids how awesome their old stuck up grandma is, I’m gonna need some memory boost. In any case, it’s too incredible NOT to write it down and just to make sure I have all my brains in the right places and perfectly functional, I better re-check this to know it really happened. So first of all I don’t know what was with the bikers that practically stormed in during the first day of school. Why did it have to be MY first day of school? And why was I literally in the middle of everything that just happened? SECOND, I freaking HATE snakes now! I had no trouble with’em before, but after you slash a few dozen and all their damn gooey organs get splattered in your face, you’d have some issues with them too. Not sayin’ that I shouldn’t have, it was either me or them and damn damn damn, I can’t believe I just did that. Had the freaking chainsaw in my hands and next thing I know it was blood all over and then threatened that big guy, he was so darn scary, but I don’t know what’s the deal with him.

Anyway, that’s not the CRAZIEST thing. Nooo…there’s more. So freaking UNBELIEVABLE. So Crooked – and you know him dear diary, I’ve told you about him – isn’t just crazy, he’s insane. And a wizard-what-not on top of everything. I suspected him a loony of the Harry Potter fan kind, but turns out the guy has some powers. Don’t know much about skill, though and I wouldn’t trust the guy with my grades, but seems I have to trust him with my life ‘cause he saved it once…half at least. And remember that cool teach I met in the parking lot that other time things got crazy? I thought it was me that’s going insane, honestly, but now I know better. Yeah, well his name is Nikola Zeraf and has more brain than all the teachers I’ve met so far put together. Not sure he’s a teach though, he seems more like a doctor. In any case, now we’re part of the same book club – so dorky – but that’s just a thing to hide the cool stuff going on. Now we’re investigating the disappearance of that cheerleader that was on the news, Ana Maria something, forgot her name. I know that things are getting so wacky, but this is the kind of things I want in my school year, honestly. It’s just awesome. In any case, I have no idea where to start from, but thinking back on what happened there was this weird chick dressed all goth like that I had an incident with and now I see her around the school quite often. I wrote to mom and dad about the event, but you know, kept it to a minimum. If they hear anything about Crooked being magical they’ll really think I’VE LOST IT and send me to some boarding school for loonies.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
